About us

Helen Sandwell

Helen is a freelance nutritionist and writer on nutrition, food and health. She holds a masters degree in nutritional medicine (University of Surrey) and a diploma in nutritional therapy and is registered with the Nutrition Society. Helen's particular areas of interest are:

  • the effect of diet on mood and behaviour
  • substance misuse, offenders, homelessness, mental illness
  • healthy eating on a limited budget
  • public health nutrition
  • healthy eating for children and infants

Helen is based in Hampshire. She currently writes a monthly healthy eating column in Drink and Drug News.

 

Gemma Heiser

Gemma is also a freelance nutritionist and writer on nutrition, food and health. She holds a masters degree in nutrition (King's College London) and has undertaken clinic training in personal nutrition consultations (Raworth College, Surrey). Gemma's particular areas of interest include:

  • nutrition writing and consumer information materials
  • maternal, pre-school and childhood nutrition
  • the effect of diet on mood and behaviour
  • public health nutrition
  • healthy eating for vulnerable communities

Gemma is based in Bristol and previously worked in health promotion roles at the Food Standards Agency and Blood Pressure Association.
